It’s ‘Paramedic Services Week’ and with the pandemic, there’s never been a better time to say thank you for all they do.
Chief of Durham Region’s Paramedic Services Troy Cheseboro says it’s made a very tough job even tougher.
“It’s been very stressful on them with the additional workload and safety precautions. Paramedics have really stepped up and gone above and beyond,” shared Cheseboro. “Unfortunately due to this [the pandemic], they have been unable to have their normal coping mechanisms like going to gyms and seeing friends and family, it’s been a ten-fold challenge for first responders these days.”
Cheseboro adds that paramedics are often the unsung heroes of emergencies and don’t go out the way to seek praise so any thanks or kind messages this week are truly appreciated.
