A snow plow driver is facing impaired driving charges after a bizarre incident in Whitby.

Durham police were called to a parking lot near Thickson Road and Stellar Drive just before 11 p.m. Wednesday after drivers complained the snow plow operator was throwing snowballs at vehicles and blocking them in the lot.

The snow plow driver, a 36-year-old from Oshawa, was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and operate a conveyance 80 milligrams or above.

The tractor was impounded for seven days and the suspect’s licence was suspended for three months.
