Toronto police say they’ve arrested the man who stabbed and killed a volunteer outside an Etobicoke mosque.
Guilherme “William” Von Neutegem, 34, of Toronto was arrested on Friday. He faces a charge of first-degree murder.
Officers were initially called the evening of September 12 to the area of Rexdale Boulevard and Kipling Avenue, where they found 58-year-old Mohamed-Aslim Zafis with a stab wound.
Zafis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say he was a volunteer with the International Muslim Organization of Toronto. He was acting as a caretaker for the mosque at the time of his death.
It’s not clear if there was a motive for the alleged killing.
