Durham police say a man and woman are facing trafficking charges after officers uncovered more than $13,000 worth of cash and drugs in Bowmanville.
Officers from the East Division Community Response Unit wrapped up a three-day investigation on Wednesday, as they executed a search warrant at a home on Maple Grove Road.
When investigators entered the home, they found around $6,170 in “assorted drugs,” including fentanyl, crystal meth and cocaine.
Officers also ended up seizing $7,105 in cash, a money counter, three digital scales and cell phones.
The two people inside the home were arrested.
Ashley Lupton, 34, and Tynan Draper, 39, both of Bowmanville, are each charged with: seven counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
In addition, Lupton is facing two charges of trafficking in substance.
Both Lupton and Draper were later released on an undertaking.
