Toronto police believe two recent stabbing deaths in Etobicoke may be connected's Profile

The Toronto police Homicide Unit is looking at the possibility two recent homicides are connected.

A mosque caretaker, Mohamed-Aslim Zafis, 58, (pictured left) was stabbed and killed Saturday while a homeless man, Rampreet (Peter) Singh (pictured right) was found dead five days earlier.

Inspector Hank Idsinga says both case cases involved brown-skinned victims who were stabbed in sudden, vicious attacks, all in the same area.

Zafis  was outside the IMO mosque Saturday night when he was fatally stabbed in the neck.

Singh was stabbed multiple times under the Highway 27 bridge he had been living for a number of months.

Idsinga says officers haven’t officially determined it’s the same suspect, but the similarities mean it hasn’t been ruled out.
