The Emergency Disposal Unit was called to Billy Bishop after a suspicious package was found.

Toronto police say that they were called just before 4 p.m. Saturday about a suspicious package at one of the terminals for the Toronto Island airport.

Officers conducted a controlled detonation of the device after initial tests determined that it could be explosive.

Police say that two people of interest were located and detained but following an extensive investigation both were released.

Toronto police say that they are confident that this is an isolated incident and there is no further risk to public safety.
