Toronto police investigating after girl approached by stranger in van's Profile

Toronto police say a child is safe after she was approached by a stranger in a van.

It happened between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, in the area of Dunview Avenue and Longmore Street, near Finch Avenue East and Willowdale Avenue.

The girl was riding her bicycle when the van pulled up next to her.

Police say the driver offered her candy in a possible attempt to bring her into his van.

When she ignored him, he drove away.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40’s or early 50’s, with grey hair.

He was driving a white cargo van – possibly a Chevrolet Express or a 2005-2010 GMC Savana.

Anyone with information can call police at 416-808-3200, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477 (TIPS).
