TTC releases mobile app for passengers to report harassment and safety complaints's Profile

The TTC is releasing a mobile app to make it easier for riders to report harassment and safety issues to transit controllers.

‘SafeTTC’ is available for iOS and Android, and is meant to offer a discreet way to log concerns.

The release comes as Toronto police dial back their expanded presence at TTC stations.

However, it is not connected to emergency response services. In the event of an emergency, you are still urged to call 911 (or press the ‘Call Police’ button on the app).

Passengers can report concerns about safety, harassment or suspicious activity on TTC vehicles, or at stations and bus stops.

The ‘Report a Problem’ button lets you send photos and messages to Transit Control at any hour of the day.

If you are on the subway and not able to connect to WiFi or cell signals, the app will store your complaint and send it once your phone is back online.
