I totally forgot that Zooey Deschanel was in this movie.
If you’ve clicked on this, then I’m guessing you’re familiar with the magic and wonder that is Bridge To Terabithia, including Leslie’s heartbreaking death that no one is over.
Because it’s been 13 years since the movie was released, let’s check in with the cast and see what they’re up to.

What he’s up to now: We’re all familiar with Hutcherson, who became a household name after starring as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games series. Most recently, he’s appeared in The Disaster Artist and Future Man.
Bonus Bridge To Terabithia fact: Hutcherson actually wasn’t Gábor Csupó’s first choice for the role of Jesse Aarons. In an interview, the director said they settled with him because they “felt the chemistry between Robb and him”.

What she’s up to now: Even before Bridge To Terabithia, Robb was already making waves in Hollywood for her portrayal of Violet Beauregarde in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. Since then, she’s come a long way, appearing as Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries, Alice Green in Mercy Street and Lacey in The Act. She’s got a couple of projects slated for 2020, so watch this space.
Bonus Bridge To Terabithia fact: Robb was immediately cast as Leslie after writing a letter to Csupó, saying how much she loved the book and the character. According to Csupó, “her letter, her enthusiasm and her love of the material” is what made him hire her.

What she’s up to now: As we all know, Deschanel went on to have a hugely successful career with roles in 500 Days Of Summer, Yes Man and New Girl — which earned her nominations at both the Golden Globes and Emmys. You can catch her next in Trolls World Tour, voicing Bridget.
Bonus Bridge To Terabithia fact: Deschanel was already familiar with the novel prior to coming on board with the movie. She said, “It was so important to me as a kid. So, I was really excited when I got the script because I thought, now there will be a whole new group of kids who will be introduced to this story that I think is such a wonderful thing to have in your life.”
Robert Patrick as Jack Aarons

What he’s up to now: Since Bridge To Terabithia, Patrick has racked up a ton of acting credits. You’ve probably seen him in shows like Last Resort, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, True Blood, Scorpion and Perry Mason. Plus, for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Robert also voiced Piandao, who is a Fire Nation swords master that taught Sokka.
Bonus Bridge To Terabithia fact: One of the reasons behind Patrick appearing in this movie was so that his kids could watch some of his work. When talking about the character of Jack, Patrick said: “This is such a wonderful role because this father has a chance to redeem himself. He starts out one way, but by the end, he begins to realise what’s really important in life.”

What she’s up to now: Post Bridge To Terabithia, Butler’s biggest roles have been in Children Of The Machine and Scandal. She’s slated to appear in a short called Leila’s Gift next.
Bonus Bridge To Terabithia fact: The producer and screenwriter, David Paterson, is the son of Katherine Paterson, who wrote Bridge To Terabithia. The novel’s story is based on a real-life event involving David and his best friend being struck and killed by lightning when he was eight years old.
