Whitby’s Peter Perry Award given to Former Councillor Joe Drumm's Profile



Former Whitby Councillor Joe Drumm is the latest recipient of the annual Peter Perry Award.

The award was given out Thursday night at a gala hosted by the Whitby Chamber of Commerce (WCC).

“I served on council for 41 years,” said Drumm. “We always looked to better our community. […] We tried to work together. We didn’t always agree, but our goal to help build Whitby was the same.”

Meantime, the Abilities Centre was named ‘Non-for-Profit Organization of the Year.’

Frank Snyder (of Snyder Construction) was named ‘Businessperson of the Year’ by the WCC.

The Business Achievement Awards were given to:

  • Deighton Associates Ltd. (50+ employees)
  • Pinchin Ltd. (16-49 employees)
  • Paradisaic Building Group Inc. (1-15 employees)

Unique Town Boutique was named ‘New Business of the Year.’
