Former Whitby Councillor Joe Drumm is the latest recipient of the annual Peter Perry Award.
The award was given out Thursday night at a gala hosted by the Whitby Chamber of Commerce (WCC).
“I served on council for 41 years,” said Drumm. “We always looked to better our community. […] We tried to work together. We didn’t always agree, but our goal to help build Whitby was the same.”
Meantime, the Abilities Centre was named ‘Non-for-Profit Organization of the Year.’
Frank Snyder (of Snyder Construction) was named ‘Businessperson of the Year’ by the WCC.
The Business Achievement Awards were given to:
- Deighton Associates Ltd. (50+ employees)
- Pinchin Ltd. (16-49 employees)
- Paradisaic Building Group Inc. (1-15 employees)
Unique Town Boutique was named ‘New Business of the Year.’
