A worker has been pronounced dead following an incident at a Mississauga construction site.
First-responders were called shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday to the area of Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road East.
According to Peel police, a pipe burst, sending water into an underground chamber.
First-responders were able to help a number of workers evacuate.
A 54-year-old man was brought out of the chamber shortly after midnight. Despite the efforts of first-responders he was pronounced deceased.
The Ministry of Labour is looking into the incident.
